If you’ve been asked to give the toast at the wedding of a good friend or family member, you might be a little nervous. We totally get it! All eyes will be on you, and the happy couple will be listening carefully to what you have to say. Since you want to give the best toast possible, here are a few tips to help you get started.
1. Know When to Bow Out
If you’ve been asked to give the official reception toast, you’re probably good to go. If not, remember that wedding toasts are usually given by key people from the wedding party (maid of honor, best man, parents). If you’re not one of those, you might be better off to share your best wishes at a less-formal public forum, such as a brunch or rehearsal dinner. You wouldn’t want to step on anyone’s toes.
